Personalized Service for Every Client's Unique Needs

Built Around Who Needs In

We set up fob access around your users: family and staff at home, residents at an HOA, tenants and vendors at a business.

Gate Access Without Keys or Codes to Share

Fobs give each person their own credential. Lose one, and we delete just that fob instead of rekeying or changing the code for everyone.

How Our Fob Systems Work

Readers, Fobs and Controllers

A weatherproof proximity reader mounts on a gooseneck post or the gate pillar. Hold a fob near it and the controller checks whether that fob is allowed, then signals the gate operator to open. We install standalone readers for single homes and networked controllers for multi-gate and multi-door sites.

Control Who Gets In, and When

Each fob can be limited by day and time, turned off in seconds, and on many systems logged so you can see which fob opened the gate.

Who uses fob gate access

  • Homeowners with a driveway gate who want family, nannies, housekeepers and gardeners to come and go without giving out a keypad code that spreads.
  • HOAs and gated communities that need to issue and cancel resident fobs as people move in and out, without rekeying anything.
  • Apartment and condo buildings with a garage gate, pedestrian gate and lobby door that should all respond to the same resident fob.
  • Businesses with parking lots, loading areas or yards where employees, deliveries and after-hours staff need different access.

Fob, keypad, remote or intercom?

Most gates do best with a mix. Remotes are handy from the car. Keypads are good for occasional visitors but codes get shared. Intercoms and telephone entry let you see or talk to a visitor before you open. Fobs are the best fit for regular users you want to track and cancel individually. We often install a fob reader and a keypad on the same post, tied into a telephone entry system or video intercom for guests.

What we install and service

  • Proximity (prox) fob and card readers, standalone and networked
  • Combination fob-and-keypad readers
  • Access controllers with time schedules and user management
  • Fobs, cards and stickers, including adding, deleting and reprogramming
  • Gooseneck posts, wiring and conduit to the gate operator
  • Exit loops and request-to-exit buttons so cars can leave without a fob
  • Integration with gate operators and electric gate openers

Our process

  1. Site visit: we look at the gate, the operator, power and wiring routes, and how cars and people approach the gate.
  2. Plan: we recommend reader placement (reachable from a driver’s window), the controller, and how many users and doors you need now and later.
  3. Install: we mount and wire the reader, connect it to the operator, and test from the car.
  4. Program: we enroll your fobs, set schedules, and show you how to add or remove users.
  5. Support: call us anytime for new fobs, lost fobs or a reader that stops responding.

Common fob system problems we fix

  • Reader lights up but the gate doesn’t open (often a wiring or relay issue at the operator)
  • Some fobs work and others don’t (programming or a full user list)
  • Reader dead after a storm or sprinkler soak
  • Gate opens but won’t close because an exit loop is stuck
  • Lost the admin card or master code

If the gate itself is sagging, noisy or slow, our driveway gate repair team can fix it on the same visit.

Where we install fob systems

We’re based in Woodland Hills and install gate access control across the San Fernando Valley, the Westside and LA County, including Encino, Calabasas, Sherman Oaks, Beverly Hills and Porter Ranch. Browse all our gate services.

Fob systems FAQ

Can you add a fob reader to my existing gate?

Usually yes. Most LiftMaster, Elite, All-O-Matic and other operators accept a fob reader. We’ll check your operator on the site visit.

What happens if someone loses a fob?

We (or you, once trained) delete that one fob from the system. Everyone else keeps working.

Can one fob open the gate and the building door?

Yes, with a networked controller one fob can open several gates and doors, each with its own schedule.

Does a fob reader work in a power outage?

If the operator has battery backup, the reader can be wired to it. We’ll recommend backup for any gate that people rely on.
