Thankfully, Ayal was able to come out and repair the issue. His experience showed when he did not give up on a problem with my deteriorating wall. He was able to find a way around that and fixed the garage door. So happy that my whole day was not ruined. BTW, this was the 2nd time that Metro GDS serviced my garage door. He had a few stops before me but He kept me updated me on time of arrival and actually showed up earlier! When He got there, He checked all the components and He found that we had a broken wall controller and bad sensors. They attached the rollers in a couple of hours along with replacing the old motor's belt and corrected the hinges and latch on the garbage gate. The work will last us many years. He did provide another option to install 2 springs instead of 1. He gave us the breakdown of the cost difference between the two options. We went with his recommendation based on his price. Dave was on time, professional & knowledgeable about what was needed for my very old, heavy, long, wrought iron driveway gate. He assessed the problem within ten minutes or less, and came prepared to do what was needed to correct the problem of gate being out of alignment which caused the locks & closer mechanism to be out of sync. He cut, welded frame, tightened screws and almost repainted, but he didn’t have primer color…dang! lol. Seriously, he went above & beyond the scope of work and now, my gate opens/closes smoothly and locks securely. I so appreciate his expertise, because the day before, I had another company come out to give an estimate, and the guy told me I needed new hinges, etc., and his price was double what I paid with Metro GDS! I think Metro service was priced fairly. I highly recommend this company and Dave, for fencing repairs. They also repair garage doors/panels and install fencing . My husband and I returned from a trip and found that FedEx had delivered some candy to me for my birthday and forced the gate open breaking it . It was already in need of power to the magnet that held the gate closed, but this was the final blow.. we were already searching for someone to repair the magnet but not having a lot of luck but Now , due to the fact that the driver forced the gate open, instead of simply dropping the package over the hedge, he destroyed the motor and the arm that controls the gate. Exhausted from the trip, and living in LA, a broken gate is not something you want to go to bed and forget about. I went to Yelp and called eight different gate repair places, most of which I was connected to a call service center. I did not want to speak to anyone or get a company that I had to go through a call center. It was Saturday, May 14 and what are the chances that I would actually speak to the owner of the company, and the actual person that would be providing the service on a Saturday afternoon. Alas Dave answered the phone and came out, that very day. In no time he had taken apart the power box, Diagnosed the problem, secured the gate enough that we felt comfortable going to sleep that night and within a couple of days he had returned, installed a new box and gave us so much information about the system that we were in awe. He was not in a rush, and explained thoroughly how the new equipment worked, registered it so we can use it from anywhere in the world and made a lot of recommendations about other security options which he doesn't sell but he's very knowledgeable about and pointed us in the direction so that we are able to pursue that as well. Did he need to do all that, of course not but that's just the way he is. You will be very fortunate indeed to have Dave work on your equipment, sell you equipment and just have him as a resource for the future. kilian scheltat1666 days agoHad an awesome experience! I called him at 3pm and he said he would arrive between 4pm and 5pm. He was perfectly on time and professional. He gave me an estimate right away before he started for a pretty big repair. He needed to do a lot of welding to fix the gate and he did it right in the spot. He also kept his estimate 100% and dint try to charge more afterwards. He not only fixed the issue but also repaired all the other issues. I had a really good experience and I can highly recommend it. Don’t go anywhere else. I not only had the best experience in terms of garage gate fixing but generally I would say it was my best experience with a service member overall.Posted on Google
Ford Blue Racing1675 days agoJust wanted to say that Metro Garage Door and Gates is an excellent business that does quality work. Although my repair job wasn't too complicated, Dave the repair tech and company owner did an outstanding job. To start, he actually established a reasonable appointment date within two days of my call and then showed up on time! Not only did he did he come out quickly to bid the job, but he also came out the very next day to do the repair after he was given the work. Then, after Dave completed the install, he contacted me as a follow up to see if the repairs were functioning properly (a new gate closer). When I told him that there were some minor closing adjustment issues, he offered and then came back out to adjust and fine tune the closer a second time without any hesitation. In closing, Dave is a stand-up guy and great businessman that still understands the meaning of good customer service. Not only would I recommend GDS for gate, garage door, and fence repairs and installs, I have now added them to my list of preferred vendors that I have in order to do work on my commercial building.Posted on Google

She quickly gathered the relevant information and I received a callback from the technician about 60 seconds later. He showed up in 1 hour (on a Saturday) as promised. After completing the requested repair by replacing the worn parts on my garage door, he examined the door and readjusted two tortion springs, realigned and stabilized the electric eye sensors which have been getting misaligned frequently and added a wood screw to shore up a cross board that had pulled free from its original staples. I had called 9 other shops that were listed as 24/7 that night, only one of those responded. Called Metro GDS and Dave answered at 8am on Saturday and scheduled an appointment to inspect it the gate. Drew Erhardt1926 days agoI contacted Metro GDS to address an urgent situation where my garage was stuck open with broken wheels, a bent track, and what appeared to be a bent, broken door. I assumed that I was looking at having to buy a new door and motor. Fortunately, I called Metro GDS and the owner, Ayal, was at my home less than 90 minutes later. Although he could have easily upcharged me for expensive repairs or a new door, he quickly assessed the situation, clearly described the fairly modest repairs that were needed, and had the repairs made and the garage working beautifully in about a half hour. He was prompt, competent, efficient, responsive to questions, friendly, and very fair with respect to pricing. He was the only one willing to give a free estimate or come as far as Whittier. He spent time fixing both gates and added a safety photo eye so the gate wouldn't close on somebody or on my car. Gery V.2170 days agoI am so pleased by dave and his company. My situation was as follows. My electric gate motor started acting up and just quit working. So naturally as you do nowadays you go on yelp and try your best to find someone who will fix your problem. I contacted several companies to come out and look at my problem and give me estimates. Dave was the first one to hit me up and give me a price quote based on the pics I had posted. He sent his availability as well and was at the ready. I set up several other companies to come down ahead of dave and guess what? They all flaked out on me wasting my whole day and time. Naturally I was f-ing pissed so next in line was dave. I hit him back up and he said he would come next day which he did. Dave had a busy day the day he came to see me and came all the way to my city of el monte from calabasas because he had gave me his word he was coming. He came when the sun was coming down but that was no problem for dave, he showed up professional and ready to fix my problem. He diagnosed and saw what was wrong gave me his price and got me going back up again. I was amazed by his professionalism, knowledge and overall his commitment to the customer. That's amazing that in todays day and age we still have great honest hard working guys like dave who will hustle to make their customers happy and in my case make new customers. I was appreciative that dave came all that way to fix my problem and for that i am thankful. David stopped by to give us a quote to install a NEW Electric Motor for our sliding gate, after checking around for other quotes we decided to go with David from Metro G.D.S Inc. However, Ayal with Metro GDS has been exceptional in his dedication to his work, he follows up and is most always available, and he is very fair about not doing work that's not needed. He saved my clients quite a bit of money by identifying a problem that other date company's didn't (like Signature - DON'T use them, I warn you!) - others were way off, at a ridiculous price. Idan Mizrahi2466 days agoI own 2 houses on 1 lot in Eagle rock. When the front electric gate got stock (along with the tenants wanting to go out with their cars DURING CHRISTMAS!) I needed to act fast. After a few calls made, I decided to give a chance to Eyal at Metro GDS. From the get go he gave me the impression that I will not be taken advantage of, with those type of vague engine problems, Company owners take advantage at times I can assume, But Metro GPS was the complete opposite. not only they came in 3 hours during the Holidays, they also fixed the gate and charged me not a $ more than $150! They also recommended a few additional things for the future well being of the gate, which will cost about $200, but he said I could wait for the next time the gate will cause a problem, What a guy. Chris Chan2470 days agoI called Metro G D S when I got home from work and noticed that the garage door would only open about 5 inches and would then close. I contacted the owner, David, who was very professional on the phone. He asked if it could wait until the next morning, but I wanted it repair that night because I was at home plus my wife's preference was that I was there. He agreed to come by and repair it that night, and drove 45 minutes in after work traffic to get to my house. He arrived promptly, assess the problem (broken spring), gave me the estimate, and repaired it within a hour.
